As part of “Tag der Schiene – Germany’s National Rail Festival,” the museum railway depot in Nördlingen will offer an extensive programme, including:

Special exhibition: “Class 151 Through the Years,” featuring the following locomotives:

151 001-5 — Class prototype; chromium oxide green livery; a unique locomotive with several design differences from the production series
151 002-2 — Second prototype, incorporating design features of the production series; chromium oxide green livery
151 073-4 — The first locomotive delivered from the factory in ocean blue and beige; ocean blue and beige livery
151 106-2 — Production locomotive fitted with an AK69e automatic coupler; refreshed DB AG traffic red livery
151 113-8 — Production locomotive; orient red livery

A display featuring vehicles from a wide range of classes and years of construction will provide an overview of the diversity of railway operations in Bavaria in earlier times.

Guided tours will be available for visitors of all ages.

Model railway enthusiasts can visit the MEC Nördlingen’s demonstration model railway free of charge. The layout is housed inside a railway carriage.

A selection of food will be available on the museum depot grounds. Visitors can either take it away or enjoy it in the buffet car.

In addition, the Donau-Ries Express will operate between Nördlingen and Donauwörth. The railway line connecting these two former Free Imperial Cities opened in 1849 as part of the Ludwig South–North Railway and blends gently into the surrounding landscape. Timetables are available on our website.
