Excursion 2609 — Saturday, 3 October 2026 — “Upper Franconia Express”
Steam locomotives 01 066 and 01 180 will take us to Upper Franconia. Our destination is the German Steam Locomotive Museum in Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg, at the foot of the famous “Schiefe Ebene” incline. The fare includes both a shuttle trip over the Schiefe Ebene and admission to the German Steam Locomotive Museum.

We are also offering a one-time discount of 10% on all excursions booked by 15 January 2026.
When you book an entire compartment, you will have exclusive use of six seats in a separate compartment within a side-corridor coach. The compartment may be used by any number of passengers from one to six. Each compartment has two window seats. Only second-class compartments are available for booking.
As seats must be reserved, passengers cannot join these long-distance excursions without advance notice. Prior booking is therefore essential.
The stated fare covers both the outward and return journeys. Trains always depart from the station in the town or city indicated.
The historic coaches used on these excursions are not accessible, although the train crew will be happy to assist passengers when boarding and alighting. As storage space for bulky items is limited, please let us know when booking if you will be bringing a wheelchair, pushchair or similar item.
